Jobsplus Employment History: How to Download Your Record in Malta
Jobsplus is Malta's Public Employment Service (PES). It builds Malta's registered employment history from the engagement and termination forms submitted by employers. Your Jobsplus employment history is therefore an official record of registered employers, positions, and employment dates—not the CV you write yourself. It can matter when an employer or public authority asks you to document work performed in Malta. (About Jobsplus; Jobsplus Portal; Employment Forms)
This guide is for workers and former workers who need to retrieve that record, check it, or deal with a missing or incorrect entry. The practical route starts on the official Jobsplus website: sign in, enter the Jobseekers area, and open CV Builder. Jobsplus says the Employment History section there is populated from employer forms, and its public help page links to an official video guide for downloading the record. (Jobsplus Portal; download help)
Verification boundary: the public Jobsplus pages, login rules, correction procedure, and help contacts in this article were checked on October 7, 2026. The authenticated dashboard and the download itself were not tested. Jobsplus links an older video guide, but that video does not establish that every signed-in label, layout, or file behavior remains unchanged in 2026.
What a Jobsplus employment history records
The record reflects employment registered with Jobsplus. Its Employment History section is populated from the engagement and termination forms supplied by employers, and users cannot directly edit those employment details in CV Builder. Visibility controls may change what prospective employers see in an online CV, but they do not rewrite the underlying record. (Jobsplus Portal)
That distinction matters when a checklist asks specifically for a Jobsplus history. A self-written CV describes your experience in your own words; it does not replace the registered record.
How to download your Jobsplus employment history
- Open the official Jobsplus website and sign in. Use your own account and the login route that matches your nationality and Maltese residence documentation. (Jobsplus login guidance)
- Enter the Jobseekers area. Jobsplus says the Jobseeker Dashboard is available to registered jobseekers, non-registrants, and people who are already employed but looking for another or an additional job. You do not have to present yourself as unemployed merely to use the dashboard. (Jobsplus Portal)
- Open CV Builder and locate Employment History. Jobsplus identifies this as the section populated from employer engagement and termination forms. (Jobsplus Portal)
- Use the employment-history download option provided in the signed-in service. Jobsplus's public “How can I download my Employment History?” help item links directly to this video guide. Treat it as official procedural guidance, not proof that the older video's hidden-screen labels or layout still match the signed-in service in 2026; the authenticated control was not tested for this article. (Download help; Jobsplus Portal)
- Save the generated file and open it before submitting it. Check that the file opens, contains all pages, and is the record requested by the recipient. Keep the original file unchanged.
If the signed-in layout does not match these labels, return to Jobsplus's current download-help page or contact Jobsplus rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party login link.
Which Jobsplus login route applies to you?
Jobsplus publishes different account routes according to nationality and residence documentation:
| Your situation | Current Jobsplus guidance |
|---|---|
| Maltese national | Sign in with an e-ID. |
| EU national with a Maltese residence card | Sign in with an e-ID. |
| EU national without a Maltese residence card | Use Sign-up Now to self-register. |
| Non-EU national living in Malta with a Maltese residence card | Sign in with an e-ID. |
| Non-EU national not living in Malta | Access to certain signed-in services is limited to people with European dual nationality, freedom-of-movement status, or an active Single Permit employment license. |
If you already have an active e-ID, Jobsplus says you do not need to register again. For an e-ID query, its login page lists 2590 4300; for general Jobsplus assistance, use the contacts in the help section below. (Jobsplus login guidance)
Do not use another person's credentials to retrieve your record. If the login repeatedly redirects you, Jobsplus advises signing out and back in, opening the Jobseekers menu while signed in, and confirming your personal details when prompted. (Jobsplus login guidance)
Check the record before sending it
Compare the downloaded record with documents you already hold. Check:
- your identifying details;
- each employer name;
- the registered position;
- start and end dates; and
- whether a recent engagement or termination is present.
The right response depends on the problem. A download problem concerns access to the file. A missing or incorrect job usually concerns the employer-submitted record. Downloading another copy will not correct an underlying form.
If a recipient needs proof of current employment but the history lists only an earlier job, do not assume the mismatch will explain itself. Ask the employer to check its submission, and ask the receiving organization what it will accept while the record is being clarified.
How missing or incorrect employment details are corrected
A recent job is missing
First check your email and post for a Jobsplus Engagement / Termination Acknowledgement. Jobsplus says it sends the acknowledgment to you once it receives the form from your employer. If no acknowledgment arrived—or the job is still missing—ask the employer to confirm that it submitted the form and to check the identity and employment details it supplied. Do not treat an employer's verbal confirmation as proof that Jobsplus received the form; use the Jobsplus acknowledgment or contact Jobsplus to clarify. (Engagement and termination help)
An employer, position, or date is wrong
Jobsplus's published procedure does not let the worker rewrite the registered details in CV Builder. Its Employment Records Unit can amend a submitted employment form when:
- the employer makes an official request by letter or declaration and explains the reason for the change; and
- both the employer and the employee sign the declaration.
If the parties disagree and the documents are not signed by both, Jobsplus says the employee, employer, or self-employed person will be asked to present the case to the National Employment Authority for consideration. (Employment Forms)
Keep your contract, payslips, employer correspondence, and any form acknowledgment available, but ask Jobsplus or the relevant authority which evidence it wants for the specific correction. Do not alter the downloaded record yourself.
An old job still appears active
Ask the former employer to check its termination form. Jobsplus says an engagement form must be submitted on the first day of employment and no later than four working days from the effective engagement date; a termination form must be submitted no later than four working days from the effective termination date. Those are employer filing deadlines, not a promise that a downloaded history will be updated within four working days. (Employment Forms)
If a former employer has not submitted the termination form and you need to register for work, Jobsplus directs you to register on Part 2 of the register. Jobsplus then contacts the former employer for the missing form. (Engagement and termination help)
If the download is not working
First identify which problem you have:
- Sign-in problem: follow the nationality and residence-card route above. If Jobsplus redirects you after login, use its sign-out/sign-in and personal-details confirmation steps. (Jobsplus login guidance)
- Missing download control: confirm that you are in your individual Jobseeker Dashboard and CV Builder, not an employer service.
- File-saving problem: check the browser's download list and the document viewer's save control. Trying another current browser or a desktop device is a general troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix for a Jobsplus service issue.
- Incorrect record: follow the correction process above; repeated downloads will reproduce the registered data rather than amend it.
When asking for help, state what you selected, what happened next, the approximate time, and any error message. Do not send your password, authentication code, or an unredacted screenshot containing unrelated personal information.
Jobsplus history and Social Security contributions are different records
A Jobsplus history shows registered employment. Malta's Department of Social Security provides a separate service showing the person's Social Security contribution record across employed, self-occupied, and self-employed years. Its page also warns that contributions made in one year are displayed in December of the following year. (Social Security contributions record)
Do not infer that every contribution was paid merely because a job appears in the Jobsplus history. If a recipient needs earnings or contribution evidence, ask which record it wants rather than assuming the employment history answers both questions.
Check the recipient's recency and certification rules
There is no single recency period in the official sources reviewed that applies to every use of a Jobsplus employment history. Check the receiving organization's current checklist.
For example, Identità's current EU-employment page says that when the submitted work contract is more than six months old, the applicant should upload a recent payslip or a Jobsplus employment history. That wording belongs to that particular route; it does not create a universal six-month validity rule for the Jobsplus record. (Identità: EU Employment)
If a recipient asks for a stamped, certified, or otherwise authenticated version, confirm the required document with that organization and Jobsplus. Printing an online file does not by itself prove that a separate certification requirement has been met.
Self-employment is not added merely by creating an account
Jobsplus says a registered user can submit a self-employment engagement form from the dashboard; the Employment Records Unit vets it, and it is added to the history after validation. (Engagement and termination help)
Where to get Jobsplus help
Jobsplus lists these general contact routes:
- In Malta: Servizz.gov freephone 153, extension 18
- From abroad: +356 2125 5153
- Online: the Jobsplus contact form
Its contact page also supports appointment requests. (Jobsplus contact)
Before traveling, check the service location. The Jobsplus Help Hub says employment documents and licence applications are available at Mosta, St. Paul's Bay, Valletta, Birgu, the Jobsplus Ħal Far Hub, and Victoria, Gozo, but not at the Msida or Pembroke outlets. Opening hours and appointment arrangements can change, so confirm them on the Help Hub first. (Jobsplus Help Hub)
The practical sequence is: download the registered record, compare it with the facts you need to prove, use the employer-led correction route when the underlying form is wrong, and confirm the receiving organization's document rules before submission.
